In my last post, I have written something about our education. Actually I have one more perception for our education which I’ll describe here. It’ll be completely different from the last one.
Most of the time, we say that our education is not in a proper format. It’s not in a proper structure. It should be something like this or that. Everyone give their own views. If you ask someone that what changes they want in their education so that it can be perfect, then everyone will suggest you a different ideas or views.
I know it’s true. But we cannot blame our education completely. In our daily life, most of the time we do so many things which are not correct and our education doesn’t tell us to do that. In our daily life, we don’t learn everything from our education. We also learn from our environment, parents, family, friends etc. Let me give you some examples so that I can explain the actual scenario.
Before moving forward, I am asking here one question and I want that everyone ask this question from yourself.
Question: While walking on the road or traveling from any vehicle where do you throw garbage and where do you spit?
I know most of people throw garbage and spit on the road. Now tell me, do you think that our education should teach us that where you have to throw garbage and where to spit. It’s a matter of common sense. It’s really disgusting if we have any expectation from our education. We are a very well educated people, having lot of degrees and we do this kind of unknowingly work. There are lots of things in our daily life which is very similar to these examples which I have given here.
Let me tell you one story. The purpose of this story is to show that from where children will learn. I am from New Delhi and stay on rent. As I have already told you in my one post that I use an internet connection. I don’t know why my land lord has some problems with my internet connection. May be it’s because of internet wire. Lots of time my land lord has created problem for me by disturbing the internet wire. But one day I completely shocked what he had done. He told his child to go on the roof and plugged out the internet wire from antenna. After that I was completely shocked for at least 10-15 minute. Anyways my point is to show that children learn form their parents, family, friends etc. There is no need to teach children everything from their education and in fact it’s not possible.
So the conclusion is that we cannot blame our education completely. We should use our mind and have to develop the capabilities to decide that what is right or what is wrong, not only for us, but also for others. I think, this is Education.
And again I am requesting here to all of you to ask that question from yourself and need your answer as a comment.

Hi Devesh, first of all I would like to complement you for the efforts you are putting in for this blog. Really, good work and keep it up.
I appreciate your vision related to our education and its associated myths, which are quite right and essential for us to understand. But my views differs a bit with yours when you say, please correct me if I’m wrong, It’s really disgusting if we have any expectation from our education system to teach us most obvious things of life.
My point is sayings and beliefs can be altered while transferring knowledge from one generation to another according to the different perception of different people. And then there will be no proof of marking a person’s perception wrong, if he/she completely perceives a thing in almost opposite direction to what a teaching is actually means, and this is quite possible when a teaching is passed over generation through words.
If the teachings are saved in writing then it can be passed and communicated to generations in exactly the same words in which the author is intended to convey his/her thoughts.
So, even small, if we bring these lessons to our education system then there are more chances of conveying our future generations the learnings that we learn today.
